Lori Boatright’s practice includes all aspects of trademarks, unfair competition, related publicity rights and other “soft IP.” She focuses primarily on branding advice and strategy, including trademark clearance, rights protection and enforcement, domestic and international trademark portfolio management, and client counseling. She has extensive experience in resolving conflicts over disputed marks – from negotiation through formal proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and federal courts. She also has significant experience in licensing, IP contracts, and due diligence.
Lori has been a featured lecturer on trademarks in professional and academic settings, an invited speaker at business and industry meetings, and has been asked back to address Trademark Attorneys at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office where she began her career. A perennial selection by the World Trademark Review’s World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, Lori is identified as a top trademark lawyer in California; the professional review notes her “enviable insight” and featured her as a leader in the category deemed Strategy and Prosecution skills. She has been named to Who’s Who: Legal for Trademarks in successive years and has been asked to serve as an Expert Witness on trademark law many times.
Prior to working for her previous firm, Lori was a Trademark Examining Attorney with the US Patent & Trademark Office and worked in civil litigation.
